Both Jeremy and Caroline were very friendly. I would certainly recommend Ammonite

    Friendly service

    Superb

Although there is not much to Chard itself, Ammonite Lodge was a good base for travelling to the various beaches of the Jurassic coast. Jeremy and Caroline, the owners were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. The room was small, as the lodge is very much a cottage, but was clean, adequate, and comfortable. The breakfasts were excellent!

The parking was very tight, as explained in the advert and in the dark, with a large vehicle, it would be virtually impossible to park.

Being greeted by a very friendly couple, very nicely decorated and fitted out rooms and a wonderful breakfast. Couldn't ask for anything more.

    Exceptional

Wonderful old house and garden full of character, ideally located for trips to South Somerset, Devon, Dorest or en route to Cornwall. Clean, with everything you need in the rooms, right down to decent-sized mugs and fruit tea sachets. Great, freshly-prepared breakfast but, best of all, proprietors Jeremy and Caroline are a lovely, friendly and helpful couple. We look forward to staying there again.

    Superb

Jeremy and Caroline were excellent hosts and the room was spotless. It was in a great location in the middle of Chard. The room was small but decorated in keeping with the building and every room was different. We loved the fact in wasn't a modern sterile place but a comfy, inviting place to stay. We would definately book again.

    Very good

A great welcome from Jeremy on arrival, and a most happy welcome from Caroline at breakfast. The food was hot and very palatable. The bathroom which we had was ample but could have been a little bigger. If you use the parking area at the rear, I would suggest that you allow Jeremy to drive down the very close fitting pathway. We would book again if we are in the area. Well done to both Jeremy and Caroline.

    The small bathroom area.

    Exceptional

The atmosphere was very friendly and the room comfortable. Jeremy also recommended a pleasant restaurant (The Oriental Aroma) for me to eat at in the evening. I hope I am working in the area again soon so that I can pay another visit.

the people were great, the location not bad, the breakfast yummy and the price reasonable. If the bed had been better it would have made all the difference.

Sadly I have to give this place a very poor review because of the terrible standard of the bed and the room we were given. It was a tiny double and the bed was appalling. Completely dipped in the middle. The bed linen was also really poor and old. The bathroom was across the hall although it was just for our use. The bathroom was very clean as was the rest of the hotel.
